Harry Taco Bowman Crimes

1982 – Wanted in relation to the murder of an Outlaws member in Ormond Beach, Florida.

1991 – USA. 21 February, 1991. The Warlocks MC (Florida) had aligned with the Hells Angels and were believed to be working on the drug trade together in the Florida area. This ignited tensions between the Warlocks and Outlaws. Warlocks New Smyrna Beach chapter President Raymond “Bear” Chaffin is shot four times in the neck and head area by Outlaws MC member Alex Ankerich while in his home garage working on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was found by his daughter, Wendy, when she returned home from school. The murder is later linked back to being ordered by Harry Bowman and Wayne Hicks. This information came out when Wayne Hicks turned into a law enforcement informant.

1992 – March, 1992. A fight breaks out at the Daytona Biker Week between former Outlaws probate Irwin “Hitler” Nissen and Outlaws Atlanta President James “Moose” McLean. Harry Bowman orders that Irwin Nissen be brought to his hotel room, at which point he threatens Irwin Nissen and orders other Outlaws members to beat him before he is dropped off a hotel balcony and sustains injuries.

1994 – A Warlocks MC clubhouse in Orlando is bombed. This bombing is later tied back to orders given by Bowman.

1995 – Outlaws member Donald Fogg is found dead in the snow. It is believed that Taco Bowman found out that he was a snitch and ordered the killing.

Harry Taco Bowman Arrest / Sentenced

1997 – Harry Bowman is indicted on ten counts, four of which are related to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

  1. Conspired to conduct and participate in the affairs of an enterprise affecting interstate commerce through a pattern of racketeering. This count includes seventeen alleged racketeering acts.
  2. Conducted or participated in the events listed in count #1.
  3. Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute opium, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and Valium.
  4. Threatening and assaulting members of the Fifth Chapter Motorcycle Club to maintain and increase his position in the RICO enterprise.
  5. Maintaining and increasing his position by conspiring to murder members of the Hell’s Angels Motorcycle Club.
  6. Distributing methamphetamine.
  7. Distributing opium.
  8. Distributing Valium.
  9. Destroying the Warlocks clubhouse in Orlando.
  10. Convicted felon possessing a .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol.

Although the indictment came out in August 1997, it couldn’t be served at his home. Taco Bowman became a fugitive.

In 1998 Taco Bowman was listed as #453 on the FBI Most Wanted list of the 1990s.

On 7 June, 1999 when he visited the house of his family in the upscale area of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan he was captured by law enforcement.

Former Outlaws Vice President Wayne Hicks testified against Taco Bowman during the trial.

He was sentenced to concurrent terms of life imprisonment on Counts #1 and #2.

He received twenty years each on Counts #3, #3, and #6, ten years each on Counts #5 and #10, and three years on Count #8. These sentences were to run concurrently with his life sentence.

Part of his sentencing also saw him ordered to pay $18,000 restitution to the widow of Warlocks MC Raymond Chaffin in relation to the 1991 murder (see February 1991 in the “Crimes” section earlier in this article).

Cossacks MC (Motorcycle Club)

Cossacks MC is an outlaw motorcycle club founded in Tyler, Texas in 1969. They are well known for their involvement in the 2015 Waco Shootout with the Bandidos MC.

We classify the Cossacks as an outlaw motorcycle club as despite claiming that they are a family club, they have been involved in multiple fights with the Bandidos MC, wear a bottom rocker and other patches similar to those used by outlaw clubs. However, they do not wear a one percenter diamond patch.

This article refers to the Cossacks Motorcycle Club based in Texas. There are also other motorcycle clubs who also go by the name of Cossacks MC who are based in the Mid-West and West states of USA.

Cossacks MC History

The Cossacks Motorcycle Club were founded in Tyler, Texas in 1969. Tyler is located approximately 100 miles East of Dallas and has a population of around 100,000.

The motorcycle club was named after the Cossack Horsemen, who the club say showed a sense of brotherhood.

Cossacks members must ride Harley Davidson motorcycles.

6 members formed the original chapter of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club:

  • Earl Swift – Cossacks President (see more details about Early further down in this article)
  • Charles Hanks – Cossacks Vice President
  • Butch Cheatham – Cossacks Secretary
  • Paul Henley – Cossacks Treasurer
  • Tom Eliason
  • Carl Blair

Only in more recent years have the Cossacks Motorcycle Club begun using a bottom rocker on their vests, signifying their location. The Texas rocker has been traditionally tightly held by the Bandidos. This is one of the rumoured motives behind the 2015 Waco Biker Shootout.

The change in direction of the club seems to have happened from around 2011-2013, when multiple ex-members of the club have stated that time periods for Prospect members have reduced significantly in an apparent effort to boost club numbers, some who are said to do a month or less of prospecting in particular chapters. Generally a prospect period would be one or more years. It is around this time that violence has also escalated.

Cossacks MC Patch / Motto / Colors

The Cossacks Motorcycle Club patch consists of a traditional Cossack rider, they are holding a sword which appears to be a scimitar.

Cossacks Motorcycle Club colors are gold and black.

One of the Cossacks mottos is “We Take Care Of Our Own“, another “GFCD”, which stands for “God Forgives, Cossacks Don’t”.

The Cossacks also use the abbreviation of “CFFC”, standing for “Cossacks Forever, Forever Cossacks“, which is a very common style of abbreviation amongst outlaw motorcycle clubs.

Famous Cossacks MC Members

While the Cossacks Motorcycle Club don’t have any famous members in a celebrity sense, there are some who are more well known within the club.

Earl Swift – Founding Member / First Cossacks MC President

Earl Swift was one of the 6 founding members of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club. He was born on 5 July, 1945 in Newport, Wales in Great Britain and died 30 December, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He worked as  a tool and die marker and helped found the Cossacks Motorcycle Club when he was around 24 years of age.

2015 – 24 April, 2015. The Dallas FBI department release a report detailing 3 fights between the Cossacks and Bandidos in the Texas towns of Longview, Kilgore and Quitman.

Waco Biker Shooting Timeline of Events

The Twin Peaks restaurant just off the Jack Kultgen Expressway in Waco, Texas, was the host of the Texas Confederation of Clubs and Independents meeting for Region 1 (a confederation involved in promoting biker rights and safety). The meeting was scheduled for 1-2pm. The restaurant had hosted this event numerous times without incident. The meeting was scheduled for 1pm.

It should be noted that Cossacks Motorcycle Club are not a member of the Texas Confederation of Clubs, so were not invited to the meeting.

Possible Scenario #1: The car spot.

  • Members of Bogatyrs MC, Cossacks MC and Scimitars MC arrive well before the scheduled 1pm meeting start time, they mainly sit in the outside patio area.
  • A Bandido nearly hits a Cossack with his motorcycle, possibly a Cossack Prospect who was keeping watch over the Cossacks bikes. Other reports say that he did in fact run over his foot and that he fell to the ground.
  • Cossacks approach the Bandidos and begin arguing.
  • A Bandido hits Cossack Ray Nelson Jr. in the face.
  • Weapons are then used by both sides. Cossack Ray Nelson Jr. is shot in the neck, however not fatally wounded.
  • At some point police officers also began firing.

Possible Scenario #2: The bathroom shove.

  • At least 22 police including 10 SWAT officers are outside of the restaurant in the carpark.
  • There is some push and shove in the bathroom of the Twin Peaks restaurant, which then spills out to the carpark. Mainly Bandidos MC, Cossacks MC and Scimitars MC are involved.
  • The push and shove turns into a knife fight and multiple men are stabbed.
  • A gun is drawn by one of those in the fight.
  • This is where statements differ: Police see the gun and begun firing automatic weapons and that all those killed were the victims of the police.

Aftermath

  • 9 are killed.
  • 18 are wounded.
  • A total of 44 shell casings were found at the scene.
  • 239 are detained at the Twin Peaks scene and the Waco Convention Center.
  • 62 of the 239 are released without charge.
  • 177 of the 239 are charged (see “Arrests” further down in this article).
  • Over 1000 items of evidence are taken such as weapons, cell phones and clothing.
  • 130 motorcycles and 91 other vehicles were held for evidence on the day.
  • As at June 12, 2015, 475 weapons had been found at the scene and seized by police. Some weapons had been buried in garden beds which were discovered by police after using a metal detector:
    • 151 firearms (including 12 long guns)
    • Knives
    • Brass knuckles
    • Batons
    • Tomahawks
    • Weighted weapons
    • A hatchet
    • Stun guns
    • Bats
    • Clubs
    • A machete
    • A pipe
    • An ax
    • Pepper spray
    • A chain

Waco Biker Shooting Motives

As could be expected, media speculation ran rampant with ideas on what the motives behind the shooting may have been.

  • Several publications listed that the shooting began over a parking spot. Maybe there was some sort of issue with a parking spot on the day, however it is safe to say that a parking spot would not be the main reason for two groups to begin shooting at each other. This suggested motive also ignores the other encounters between the groups in the preceding months.
  • The Cossacks in recent years have begun wearing the “Texas” bottom rocker. The territory of Texas has traditionally been captured by the Bandidos. The Cossacks refused to pay their dues to the Bandidos for “allowing” them to wear the rocker. In addition, it is believed that multiple existing out-of-state Cossacks members transferred to Texas chapters to boost Cossack numbers.
  • Rumours of the Cossacks forming an alliance with the Hells Angels MC, who are a long term enemy of the Bandidos.
  • Some groups have suggested that the shooting was set up by the Police and that the Waco Police Department were well aware of the event, as well as the rising tensions between the Bandidos and Cossacks. Police were ready to quickly respond with firepower as soon as the first violence broke out between the two motorcycle clubs.

Bandidos MC Logo

Waco Biker Shooting Police Involvement

On the day of the event multiple Police officers were witnessed firing weapons, a fact which was confirmed by police. The exact actions that they took on the day are under question.

Multiple witnesses have stated that the majority of the shooting was done by the police.

Statements made by police about the Waco shootout event have also varied.

  • Incident Report – Officer George Vrail: Officer George Vrail was providing a special detail to cover the meeting, he stated in an incident report that an officer involved in the shootout approached him after the event to advise that he and his colleague were engaged by gunfire as they were exiting their vehicle and returned fire and that they had “struck multiple suspects with their patrol rifles”.
  • Incident Report – Officer Keith Vaughn: Officer Keith Vaughn’s statement included that an officer spotted a man shooting into the crowd, so he fired one shot to “stop the individual from shooting anyone else”.

  • May 18, 2015: Sgt Patrick Swanton, a spokesperson for the Waco Police Department states the following:
    • “There were multiple people on the scene firing weapons at each other”
    • “They then turned on our officers. Our officers returned gunfire, wounding and possibly killing several.”
  • June 12, 2015: Waco Police Chief Brent Stroman states the following:
    • 3 police officers fired a total of 12 shots from rifles.
    • The 3 officers fired .223 caliber rifles, using semi-automatic mode only, although they are capable of fully automatic firing.
    • No other law enforcement agencies fired any shots.
    • No confirmation as to whether or not the 12 bullets hit anyone.
    • All officers on the scene were inside their vehicles when the first shots were fired at Twin Peaks.

Waco Biker Shooting Arrests and Protests

177 people were initially arrested, a number which was reduced to 170, taken to the Waco Convention Center for processing and placed on $1 million bonds. Only three people were known to have posted the $1 million bond, the Bandidos Dallas President David Martinez, Christopher Stainton and Bandido Jeff Battey.

Many of those arrested were initially told that they were being taken to the Waco Convention Center to provide witness statements, rather than that they were being arrested. The officers who provided this information may have believed that this was the truth at the time and that the decision to make the arrests was only properly communicated by the District Attorney to all involved once they arrived at the Waco Convention Center.

Hearings were required to negotiate the reduction of bonds payable by most on the arrest list. Many bonds were reduced to between $25,000 and $100,000, however each of these required a hearing.

By early June, 2 weeks after the event, only 25 people had been released.

River Run Riot Leadup / Laughlin River Run

Laughlin is located just under 100 miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada and is the host to the Laughlin River Run.

The Laughlin River Run is an annual motorcycle rally which was first established in 1983. From a humble start of 426 participants at the 1983 event, it quickly gathered speed and in 2005 had an estimated 70,000 attendees.

The rally is generally held on the last weekend in April. The River Run Riot event in 2002 was the first time that mass violence had erupted during the rally.

River Run Riot Timeline of Events

The following events occur on Saturday 27 April, 2002.

  • Approximately 35 Hells Angels members leave the Flamingo Hotel (a hotel traditionally held by the Hells Angels during the Laughlin River Run) and head to the Harrah’s Casino (the Mongols hotel during the Laughlin River Run).
  • Hells Angels enter the Harrah’s Casino in Laughlin just after 2am and see approximately 40 members of the Mongols in Rosa’s Cantina bar.
  • Due to the Harrah’s Casino having a significant number of security cameras, most of the following events were captured on camera and later used in the charging and prosecution of those were involved.
  • There is some talking between the groups, with a Mongol asking the Hells Angels who was in charge of their group, to which a Hells Angels member replies and then shortly after some shouting begins.
  • Raymond Foakes, a member of the Hells Angels, lands a running fly kick on a member of the Mongols.
  • A mass brawl breaks out on the Harrah’s Casino gaming floor. Several members of the public are still in the casino and begin running or attempting to find cover in the casino.
  • Guns are fired and other weapons also used. It is believed that the first shot may have been fired by a member of the Mongols, followed by a  shot from a member of the Metropolitan Police Department, who was responding to the incident. Other people have claimed that it was an undercover police officer who fired the first shot.

The Aftermath

  • 3 are killed. 2 are Hells Angels MC members and 1 a Mongols MC member (see “Victims” further down in this article).
  • Dozens are injured, including 16 being taken to the emergency department.
  • Over 50 knives and multiple guns are taken into evidence by police.

River Run Riot Motives

There are a few different motives that have been discussed as being the cause of the River Run Riot event.

  • Possible motive #1: Supporter Gear.
    • A stand at the rally were selling Hells Angels supporter gear and were hassled by members of the Mongols MC.
  • Possible motive #2: San Bernardino, California shooting.
    • Hours before the riot Hells Angels MC member Christian Tate is killed while riding home to San Diego, California. His body was found by California Highway Patrol with a bullet in the back and his drivers licence sitting on the seat of his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
  • Possible motive #3: Escalating violence.
    • The River Run Riot was just another step in the escalating violence between the Hells Angels and the Mongols. The clubs had been at war for years, including cases not long before the rally including dynamite being left under the car of a Mongols Vice President, various stabbings and other similar events.

River Run Riot Victims

3 men were killed as part of the riot. In addition to those listed below who lost their lives, there were many more who were injured.

Mongols MC Victim

  • Anthony Barrera: Age 43 of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Stabbed to death.

Hells Angels MC Victims

  • Jeramie Bell: Age 27 of Hughson, California. Shot to death.
  • Robert Tumelty: Age 50 of Stockton, California. Shot to death.

River Run Riot Arrests & Trial

Initially the group were charged with over 70 offences, including some related to conspiracy. In March 2006 the Nevada courts threw out most of these and proceeded with 12 charges including two counts of murder with use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote a gang.

It wasn’t until early 2008 that most of the sentencing had finally been completed.

In addition to the members listed below who were charged, 36 Hells Angels were initially named in Federal indictments, however these charges were later dropped.

George Christie Personal Life

George Christie was born in Ventura, California in 1947. He is an only child with Greek immigrant parents.

As a teenager he was a surfer, which was where he was first introduced to motorcycles, as a friend of his had a Harley Davidson motorcycle which he brought down to the beach one day.

In 1984 he carried the Olympic Torch as part of the Los Angeles Olympic Games.

He owned a tattoo shop in Ventura known as The Ink House up until early 2013.

He has four children, George Jnr III, Moriya, Aubree and Finn, and a wife, Nikki. His youngest child, Finn, lives with him and his wife in Southern California.

One of his elder children, George Christie Jnr. III also had some involvement with the Hells Angels, becoming the Vice President of the Ventura chapter. In August 2015 he unexpectedly died in his sleep, aged 39.

George Christie’s daughter, Moriya Lynn Christie, is a criminal attorney and has acted on behalf of her father on numerous occasions.

After leaving the Hells Angels and serving some time in prison he acts as an organized crime consultant to networks including CNN as well as working with inmates to help them to understand the judicial process through his company “Felony Prison Consultants”.

George Christie Hells Angels MC Motorcycle History

In 1966 at the age of 19 he purchased his first motorcycle, a 1957 Harley Davidson Panhead, reportedly for $200. He then began hanging around The Question Marks outlaw motorcycle club, based in Ventura where he met Von Dutch and Dick Woods.

He joined the Hells Angels Los Angeles chapter and became a fully patched member in 1976 and only 6 months later was promoted to the Los Angeles chapter President.

In 1978 he left the Los Angeles chapter to start a new chapter in Ventura, where he held the role of Ventura President for several decades, leaving him as one of the longest serving Presidents and also one of the most famous hells angels members.

George Christie was thought to be a level-headed leader in most cases. Over his years as President he was able to build up relatively good relationships between the Mongols and Hells Angels in the Ventura, California area, at least in comparison to the widespread hatred that occurred between the Hells Angels and the Mongols elsewhere in the country.

In 2011 he was put out of the club in bad standings, with beliefs that he had cooperated with law enforcement. George Christie claims that he retired from the club.

George Christie Crimes

1986 – Charged with conspiracy to commit the murder of a drug dealer. He was acquitted, however had spent a year in prison by the time of the acquittal.

1998 – Indicted on 59 counts relating to the distribution of drugs. He spent a year in prison and pled guilty to conspiracy to sell prescription drugs as well as pleading no contest to the filing of a false tax return. This indictment covered multiple members of the Christie family including his ex-wife Cheryl, son George Christie Jnr III, daughter Moriya Christie and her husband Layne Bell.

2007 – 6 July, 2007. Molotov cocktails are thrown into two tattoo shops, Scratch the Surface and Twisted Ink, both located in Ventura. These two tattoo shops were thought to have some connections with the Mongols MC, who are a traditional Hells Angels enemy, however are on much better terms with the Hells Angels in the Ventura, California area.

2011 – 12 August, 2011. Indicted (with a superseding indictement in December, 2011), along with Benito Hurtado, Brian Andrew Russell, Kyle Douglas Gilbertson and Richard Reeves Russell III, on federal charges relating to extortion and the July 2007 firebombing of Scratch the Surface and Twisted Ink tattoo shops. George Christie is charged with one count of conspiracy to use fire or explosive to damage property, and two counts of use of fire or explosive to damage property.

The FBI statement at the time stated:

“The indictment alleges that Christie, while the president of the Ventura County Chapter of the Hells Angels, conspired to threaten the owners of rival tattoo parlors in an effort to force them to close down their businesses. When the owners remained in business, Christie allegedly conspired to firebomb the businesses.”

2011 – 2 September, 2011. George Christie is released on $200,000 bail and placed under house arrest. The trial is due to begin 31 January, 2012, however is delayed multiple times and does not start until January, 2013.

2013 – 1 February, 2013. A plea deal is reached, which sees him plead guilty to two counts of conspiracy.

2013 – August, 2013. He is sentenced to serve one year in FCI (Federal Correctional Institution) La Tuna, located in Anthony, Texas.

Documentary – Filmmaker Nick Mead made the documentary, “The Last American Outlaw”, which started filming just before Christie was indicted in 2011. Originally started as a film about freedom within America, it turned into a biography of sorts about George Christie. The documentary was shown at the Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, however later on pulled from mass release after serious concerns were raised that the stories told by George Christie were not factual. Threats have since come claiming that filmmaker Nick Mead may be sued if the production doesn’t continue.

Wino Willie Forkner founded the Boozefighters MC in California in 1946.

Wino Willie Forkner Early Life / Family Life

Willie Clyde Forkner Jnr. was born on 11 July, 1920.

The story goes that he got his nickname of “Wino” because as a 7 year old he would go to wineries in the Fresno area and have a drink.

Before World War II Willie Forkner joined the 13 Rebels Motorcycle Club in California, who had a strong focus on racing and socializing.

Joining the World War II effort he became part of a B-24 Liberator bomber crew in the South Pacific on an aircraft named the “Pacific Tramp”. Returning from the war he once again took to motorcycles with 13 Rebels, attending race meets. He grew frustrated with the club and decided to start something of his own, this is how Boozefighters MC was born.

He had 2 daughters, Patricia and Terrie, a son, William Forkner III and a wife, Terrie. They lived in Fort Bragg, California, which is located roughly 150 miles north of San Francisco.

Wino Willie Forkner Boozefighters MC

In 1946 Willie founded the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club in California when he was aged around 26. Some other of the original members included Fatboy Nelson, Dink Burns and George Menker. Their regular bar at the time was the All American Bar, located in South Gate, Los Angeles, California. This bar was also shared by his previous club, the 13 Rebels Motorcycle Club.

After the club expanded throughout the later parts of the 20th century the control of the club became difficult to manage, with many chapters opening and lots of different opinions on how the club should be run. Wino Willie Forkner decided to give away his rights to the Fort Bragg Chapter (Chapter #1), which he sold for $1.

The story here goes that the two men who took over the club turned it into a profit making organization and after one of the two died Wino Willie Forkner tried to buy back the club in the mid 1990s, which was offered for sale to him for $14,641, a deal which he agreed to but was later withdrawn.

Wino’s Crew Motorcycle Club was then started in 1997 by some former members of the Boozefighters, with blessing of Wino Willie Forkner. They state that their aim is to carry on the memory, spirit and intent of the original chapters of the Boozefighters.

Wino Willie Forkner Death

Wino Willie Forkner died 23 June, 1997 of a ruptured aortic aneurism in Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, located in Santa Rosa, California.

According to SFGATE.com:

Four days earlier, in an interview with The Chronicle, he sounded perfectly robust and said he was itching to get on his Ducati and get down to Hollister so he could lead a parade through the streets on July 4.

“I’m ready for it,” the grizzled old biker said. “I’m going to stay there until the party’s over.”

The parade being discussed in the quote above was for the 50th anniversary of the Hollister Riot. His ill health and death seemed to have come as a surprise to many of the members in the motorcycle club who were planning on meeting with him at the rally.

He was age 76 at the time of his death, with a funeral service held at Chapel By The Sea in Fort Bragg, California.

The movie The Wild One is loosely based on the Hollister Riot events, in no means should it be viewed as an accurate depiction. Otto Friedli was a former President of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club San Bernardino chapter and previously a member of the Pissed off Bastards of Bloomington who attended the 1947 Hollister Riot.

Otto Friedli Early Life / Family Life

Otto Friedli was born 28 June, 1931 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin. He grew up in Los Angeles and then moved to Santa Barbara when he was in his teens.

He spent some time in the Army, working as a mechanic. He was later discharged after it was found out that he had a criminal record.

Around 1980 he married his wife, Carol, who already had a daughter, Laura, at the time around 10 years, from a previous relationship. Otto also had two children from a previous marriage, Otto Jnr. and Lisa. He also had a child who drowned at age 6, named David.

Otto Friedli was a member of the Pissed off Bastards of Bloomington Motorcycle Club.

While with POBOB MC it is believed that he was one of the members who attended the 1947 Hollister Riot, which also included other prominent groups including the Market Street Commandos. In the years following the riot he left the club and went on to join the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

Otto Friedli POBOB MC

Otto Friedli Hells Angels Motorcycle Club

Although Otto Friedli is often credited with being one of the founders of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, he has stated that this was not the case and that the was invited to a club meeting by the partner of a former girlfriend of his. He is listed in many sources to have joined the club in 1948, but the date may have been a year or two later, with other sources stating as late as 1951.

Many of the same sources that list him as being the founder of the club in 1948 also list him as a World War II veteran, which is not realistic as he would have been 14 at the end of the war in 1945.

According to Sonny Barger, Otto Friedli became the Hells Angels San Bernardino President after Bobby Zimmerman was killed in a motorcycle accident on the way home from Bass Lake in 1961.

Otto Friedli also acted as the National President up until he went to prison (see the “Crimes/Prison” section below) and Sonny Barger, the Hells Angels Oakland chapter President, took over as National President and moved the headquarters from San Bernardino to Oakland.

Otto Friedli Hells Angels

Otto Friedli Crimes / Prison

In the 1950s he was charged in connection to a robbery of the Miramar Hotel.

In the late 1960s he was convicted of possession of a firearm during a raid on a Rancho Cucamonga ranch which was used by the Hells Angels. As Otto Friedli already had a prior conviction from the robbery above he was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

During his 3 years in prison he began reading the bible for several hours a day. His “finding of religion” significantly changed his life from this point on.

Otto Friedli Life After Prison

After leaving prison he decided that the Hells Angels no longer represented the sort of life that he wanted to live, so he instead joined the Santa Barbara chapter of the Black Sheep Motorcycle Ministry, who are Harley Davidson riders club aiming to spread the word of Christ.

He found a job as a mechanic at a Harley Davidson dealership in Whittier, California which he held for a few years before becoming involved in swimming pool construction, a career which he had until his retirement in around 2003.

Otto Friedli Death

Otto Friedli died on 17 March, 2008 in Santa Barbara, California. He was age 76 at the time of his death.

At his memorial the following quote was provided by him to be added to the handouts:

“Bye bye suckers, see you in Heaven”.

He was buried in Goleta Cemetery in Santa Barbara County.

Sonny Barger

Sonny Barger is the former President and founding member of the Hells Angels Oakland Chapter.

He has been widely identified as being the National President of the Hells Angels and is quite possibly the most well know outlaw motorcycle club member of all time, having used the media to his advantage over several decades.

Sonny Barger Early Life / Personal Life

Ralph Hubert Barger was born 8 October, 1938 in Modesto, California. At four months old his mother left, leaving him with his father and older sister.

In 1954 he started a small street corner club that he named “Earth Angels”.

He joined the army in 1955, at age 16, however was thrown out 14 months later after it was discovered that he had forged his birth certificate.

After returning from the army in 1956 he joined the Oakland Panthers Motorcycle Club, later leaving stating that they didn’t have the “brotherhood” that he was seeking. In the event of an issue they would often split, rather than stick together and battle through whatever may have come up.

The Hells Angels Oakland chapter was founded in 1957 (see “Hells Angels MC” further down in this article), with Sonny becoming one of the founding members and the first President of the chapter.

His drugs of choice over the years have been LSD and cocaine.

In 1982/1983 he was diagnosed with throat cancer and had his vocal chords removed. Having to go through therapy to learn to talk again, his voice changed significantly, leaving him now with a very husky unique voice, which has been likened to Marlon Brando in The Godfather. As well as having throat cancer he has also suffered from a heart attack.

In 1998 he moved to Arizona with his third wife and daughter and became a member in the Hells Angels Cave Creek chapter, selling his shop in Glendale, California in the process.

He has amassed a number of high profile friends over the years, including Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead and actor Mickey Rourke.

Sonny Barger Hells Angels MC

The Hells Angels Oakland Chapter was founded on 1 April, 1957. Sonny was one of the original founders. A plaque outside of the clubhouse reads that the club was founded by “Sonny Barger and others”. The “others” included another biker by the name of Boots Don Reeves.

He has stated that they didn’t ask permission before founding the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels. It was Boots Don Reeves who came across a patch and they decided to start riding together and forming their own chapter. It is believed that this didn’t cause any major issues with the other chapters at the time as they were just a group of loosely related chapters, however if a similar scenario happened today, and people began forming their own chapter of the Hells Angels without asking for formal approval, it would be a completely different story.

When the Hells Angels National President Otto Friedli went to prison the National President role was taken over by Sonny Barger. After he took over he also moved the Hells Angels Mother Chapter from San Bernardino (Berdoo), to the Hells Angels Oakland Chapter.

It is worth noting that “National President” isn’t an actual role within the Hells Angels and that Sonny Barger is merely a member of the club in good standing. However, for several decades he has widely been acknowledged as being the overall leader and spokesperson.

In 1998 he moved to the Arizona and joined the Hells Angels Cave Creek Chapter. The Oakland Chapter President role was taken over by Elliot S. “Cisco” Valderrama.

Hells Angels Sonny Barger
Hells Angels Sonny Barger

Sonny Barger Crimes

1973 – Sentenced to ten years to life for the sale of 37 grams of heroin. After legal battles he is later released in 1977.

1979 – Sonny Barger, along with multiple other members of the Hells Angels Oakland chapter are put on trial facing RICO charges relating to guns and drugs (United States of America v. Ralph Barger, Jr., et al.). They were acquitted after the prosecution could not prove that it was part of the motorcycle club laws to be involved in these activities.

1987 – November, 1987. Arrested on conspiracy charges. FBI informant Anthony Tait plays a strong part in the following court case.

1988 – October, 1988. A jury finds Sonny Barger guilty of conspiracy to violate federal firearms and explosives laws in plots to kill members of the Outlaws MC in Louisville, Kentucky as well as other areas. Along with Michael Vincent O’Farrell he was convicted of conspiracy to transport and receive in interstate commerce explosives with intent to kill and to damage buildings. The conviction had a maximum sentence of five years, however he receives a sentence of four years in prison in Arizona and is released in 1992. There were a total of 10 Hells Angels members in Alaska and California who were accused of being involved.

In addition to the many books and articles that have been written about Sonny Barger, he is also a writer himself, having published several books.

Thunderguards MC are a black one percenter motorcycle club founded in 1965 in Wilmington, Delaware.

The Thunderguards have strong ties to the Pagans Motorcycle Club.

Thunderguards MC History

The Thunderguards Motorcycle Club were founded in Wilmington, Delaware in 1965. They are an all black outlaw motorcycle club.

The original members were Buckie (who is said to have chosen the name of “Thunderguards”), Junkyard, Fishman, Billy C, Charlie, Gordie and Cuppie. The group of men to join next were given the title of “7%ers”, they were Big Leonard, Joe, Lensey, Marvin, Sonny, Sam and Soulman.

In 1979 a board was voted in with one of the founding members, Sam, being selected as the President.

Originally the club used the houses of the founding members for meeting, but then opened a clubhouse in 1966 on 9th and Wilson in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1970 they moved to Gordon Street and then in 1983 moved again to 28th and Northeast Blvd.

2014 – 11 April, 2014. The Criminal Nuisance Abatement Act is used to attempt to shut down the Thunderguards clubhouse in Wilmington, as it had seen “ongoing and violent criminal activity”, including multiple shootings (see photo of the clubhouse further down in this article).

2014 – 14 May, 2014. The club agree to vacate their Wilmington clubhouse, however later change their mind and claim that they wish to instead turn the clubhouse into a community center facility where youth can be mentored and relationships can be built amongst the community.

Great Nordic Biker War

The Great Nordic Biker War refers to a feud between Hells Angels MC and Bandidos MC in Scandinavia that went from 1994 until 1997.

This war between the clubs is also sometimes referred to as either the Great Northern Biker War or the Great Scandinavian Biker War.

Of particular note was the use of anti-tank rockets in multiple attacks, which were believed to have been stolen from the Swedish Army.

Great Nordic Biker War – Leadup

Before we can understand Great Nordic Biker War we first need to go back to the 1980s in Scandinavia.

The Hells Angels moved into Scandinavia in 1980, taking in United MC, much to the dislike of others clubs at the time. Their opponents formed an alliance and created Bullshit MC. In September 1983 Bullshit MC went to a pub owned by the Hells Angels and the result was the start of a war which lasted over two years and killed 8 Bullshit MC members, one Hells Angel and a civilian.

In 1992 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Morticians MC turned against the Hells Angels. Morticians MC later changed their name to Undertakers MC and then in 1993 were patched over by the Bandidos MC. In 1994 Hells Angels attempted to prevent Morbids MC from gaining a foothold in the area, so Morbids MC joined the Bandidos alliance and later on Outlaws MC also joined the Bandidos alliance.

Great Nordic Biker War – Clubs Involved

Other than the two main clubs involved in the battle, there were several support clubs who also played a part.

The Bandidos were believed to have approximately 130 members based in the region across 7 chapters, to the Hells Angels 290 members based in the region across 15 chapters.

Rockerloven (English translation: The Rocker Act) was passed by the government in Denmark and came into play on 15 October, 1996. This act provides police with more power against bikers and also aims to prevent the assembly of members at their clubhouses.

An amendment was passed in June, 2003 providing even greater rights to police, including the ability to use civilian agents, monitor internet traffic including emails and also allows other types of undercover monitoring in an effort to combat organized crime.

Great Nordic Biker War – Further Conflicts

2001 – 21 March, 2001. Former Bandidos President Claus Bork Hansen is shot 26 times, dying as a result of the wounds, in Vanlose, Copenhagen, Denmark. After being thrown out of the Bandidos he had gone on to create a Red & White support club (Hells Angels support club). 4 members of Bandidos MC were later charged with the murder.

As part of the trial into the murder it was found that crisis talks had occurred between the Hells Angels and Bandidos only two days before the murder, as neither group wanted another large scale war to happen and there was a belief that Claus Bork Hansen was attempting to force their hands.

Jens Christian Thorup was convicted of the murder and sentenced to life in prison, but was sent to a psychiatric hospital after 3 judges believed that he was mentally ill, later being transferred to a prison. The other three initially charged with the murder, “Kemo” Kent Sorensen, Karl Martin Thorup and Peter Buch Rosenburg were all acquitted.

2001 – 12 August, 2001. Flemming Jensen, who had strong connections with the Cerberus gang, was stabbed to death by members of the Hells Angels after a fight broke out in a bar in Aalborg, Denmark. Cerberus were aligned with the Bandidos however later switched to align with the Hells Angels. Flemming Jensen still had many associates on the Bandidos side and was reluctant to switch his allegiance. Hells Angels prospect Jesper Østenkær Kristoffersen later confessed to the murder and was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

Lennoxville Massacre

Lennoxville Massacre, also known as the Lennoxville Purge, refers to the 1985 murder of 5 Hells Angels North Chapter members from Laval in Lennoxville, Quebec, Canada.

Lennoxville Massacre Map
Lennoxville Massacre Map

Lennoxville Massacre – Leadup / Motive

The Hells Angels were aiming to have discipline displayed throughout their ranks.

Members of the Hells Angels North Chapter from Laval, a chapter which was founded in 1979, were believed to have been heavy drug users and constantly partying, somewhat unpredictable, making them a liability.

Also a possibly motive was the rumour that money was owned by the Hells Angels Laval and Montreal chapters to West End Gang leader Frank Peter “Dunie” Ryan. After Frank Ryan was killed it is believed that members of the Laval chapter including Yves Trudeau organized a revenge bombing, which was not to the liking of the higher up Hells Angels.

It was decided that an example would be made of the Laval Chapter members.

Lennoxville Massacre – Timeline of Events

Saturday 23 March, 1985 – Members of the Laval chapter are requested to come to the clubhouse in Lennoxville, Quebec. Only 3 members are available to come, so the meeting is postponed until the following day.

Lennoxville Massacre Hells Angels Clubhouse
Lennoxville Massacre Hells Angels Clubhouse

Sunday 24 March, 1985 – Five members of the Hells Angels Laval Chapter are summoned to the Hells Angels clubhouse in Lennoxville, Quebec, arriving in the evening of Sunday 24 March, 1985.

It is believed that 41 members of the Hells Angels meet the five Laval Chapter members at the clubhouse.

The five Laval Chapter members are beaten and shot. Over a dozen members are believed to have been involved in the beatings, shootings, the cleanup of the bodies and disposing of evidence.

After having their Hells Angels colors removed the bodies of the five men are wrapped in sleeping bags, cinder blocks are used as weights and they are thrown into the St Lawrence River. Parts of the St Lawrence River have been known as the “Hells Angels Graveyard”.

Sunday 7 April, 1985 – Hells Angels member Michel “Jinx” Genest phones Claude Roy, a Laval Chapter prospect, inviting him to meet him at a motel in St Basile le Grand.

During the meeting Claude Roy is beaten to death by Michel Genest, while Michel Genest is trying to get information out of him. His body wrapped in a sleeping bag and thrown into the St Lawrence River, his body weighed down with cement blocks.

Monday 3 June, 1985 – Police divers recover bodies of the victims from the St Lawrence River.

Lennoxville Massacre – Victims

Five men were killed in the Lennoxville Massacre, all were members of the Hells Angels North Chapter:

  • Guy-Louis “Chop” Adam – Hells Angels North Chapter Member. Fought with the attackers and managed to get outside where he was shot 7 times with 3 different guns.
  • Jean-Guy “Brutus” Geoffrion – Hells Angels North Chapter Member.
  • Jean-Pierre “Matt le Crosseur” Mathieu – Hells Angels North Chapter Member.
  • Laurent “L’Anglais” Viau – Hells Angels North Chapter Founder and President. Killed by a shot to the head.
  • Michel “Willie” Mayrand – Hells Angels North Chapter Member.

One man was killed in the weeks following the Lennoxville event:

  • Claude “Coco” Roy – Hells Angels prospect who was murdered in the weeks following the Lennoxville event, believed to be connected with the Laval Chapter and possibly assisting police with their enquiries.

One of the believed initial targets of the massacre was Yves “Apache” Trudeau, who was a prominent member within the Laval Chapter. Luckily for him he had checked into a drug rehabilitation facility shortly before the events of 24 March.

Hells Angels Patches - Death Head Logo

Lennoxville Massacre – Police Informants

Yves Trudeau, one of the initial targets of the massacre who was in a drug rehabilitation facility at the time of the murders, assisted police with their case after he found out that there was a contract put on his head by members within the club. As part of the case he admitted to being involved in 43 murders between September 1970 and July 1985.

Gerry “Le Chat” Coulombe. Gerry Coulombe also assisted police with their case. He was slated to join the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, however after not hearing about his patching for a period of time he begins to believe that he may be next on their target list. He provides police with the information that Réjean Lessard described the murder plans to him while they were in a car together.

Gilles Lechance was present at the Lennoxville event and turns police informant after he is arrested.

Lennoxville Massacre – Charges

2013 – 21 November, 2013. Police are dispatched to a park to investigate 2 men acting suspiciously. One of the men is Jacques Pelletier, the other a convicted arm robber with connections to the Hells Angels. Jacques Pelletier is returned to prison for associating with known criminals.

Lennoxville Massacre – Aftermath

The Lenoxville Massacre event shook up the biker scene in Canada. It is believed that some members who had previously been considering joining the Hells Angels, as well as former associates of the Laval chapter, decided to form their own new group, which would come to be Rock Machine MC.

Rock Machine would go on to form alliances with the Bandidos MCRock Machine MC and Hells Angels MC would later be two of the major players involved in the Quebec Biker War.

Note: Just a quick note before the complaints come streaming in, clearly the feature image for this post is not an outlaw motorcycle club battle, it is a battle on horseback, Kearny’s Charge in the battle of Chantilly to be exact, we would have much preferred to use one of David Mann’s amazing outlaw biker works of art, but can’t due to copyright.

The Milperra Massacre, also known as the Father’s Day Massacre, refers to a battle between Bandidos MC and Comanchero MC in the suburb of Milperra, Sydney on Sunday 2 September, 1984, which was Father’s Day in Australia.

Milperra Massacre / Father’s Day Massacre – Leadup / Motive

Most of the Bandidos involved in the Milperra Massacre were former members of Comanchero MC. Comanchero had a single chapter, however tensions within the club saw several members break away to start a second chapter in Sydney while the original chapter set up clubhouse at 65 Harris Street, Harris Park, Sydney.

In 1982 the Comanchero MC Sydney City chapter was started by Anthony “Snodgrass” Spencer at 150 Louisa Street in Birchgrove, Sydney. This chapter was then later patched over by Bandidos MC, which in the process made the chapter members enemies of the Comanchero Motorcycle Club.

The move to change the chapter over to the Bandidos MC came after several of the chapter members were not satisfied with the leadership style and direction taken by their founder and Supreme Commander, Jock Ross.

On 10 August, 1984 Jock Ross (Comanchero Supreme Commander) and Anthony Snoddy Spencer (Bandidos MC President) spoke on the phone and war was declared. The clubhouse of the Comanchero was fortified and Bandidos MC clubhouse was armed.

She was a young motorcycle enthusiast and was attending the swap meet with a friend of her father’s. It is likely that the Father’s Day Massacre, and the trial that followed the event, would not have gained the same media attention and uproar in the community were it not for her death.

Milperra Massacre / Father’s Day Massacre – Charges

43 people were initially charged with 7 counts of murder.

The trial lasted over a year, with 332 days of evidence, in a case which cost in the vicinity of $11 million. Bernard Podgorski, a former Secretary of the Bandidos turned witness for the state.

12 June, 1987 – The jury announce their verdicts. There are 63 murder convictions, 147 manslaughter convictions and 31 convictions of affray. Jock Ross, leader of the Comanchero, as mentioned as the main cause of the event.

  • 21 are found guilty of manslaughter.
  • 9 are found guilty of murder (these are later appealed and charges dropped to manslaughter in 1989).

Milperra Massacre / Father’s Day Massacre – Prison & Release

Jock Ross – Mentioned by the judge as being the main instigator in the event receives a sentence of life in prison. He is released in 1992 after serving 5 years and 3 months in prison as his conviction was downgraded to manslaughter and he also received good behaviour leniency. View our full article on Jock Ross.

John “Wack” Campbell – Bandidos MC member. John Campbell was one of 6 Campbell brothers. He died in jail in 1987 from complications related to the injuries he sustained in the Milperra fight.

Anthony “Snoddy / Snodgrass” Spencer – On April 28th, 1985, Anthony Snodgrass Spencer was found dead in his cell in Parklea Prison. He had hung himself. He was aged 30 at the time of his death.

Information retrieved from his diary and statements of others, indicate that he had a heavy feeling of guilt as his Bandidos MC brothers were failing in their bail applications, he felt as though he was responsible for them being in prison and not out with their families.

A story also came out from Anthony Spencer’s solicitor, Chris Murphy, that on the afternoon prior to his death he was in a meeting in the Parklea Prison with fellow Bandidos MC members and was late attending the clinic to pick up his prescribed sedatives, which helps him to relax and sleep. When the situation for being late was explained the pills were denied. It was that night that Anthony Snodgrass Spencer hung himself, it is possible that the pills could have saved his life, although impossible to confirm this.

Quebec Biker War

Quebec Biker War, refers to a battle between multiple outlaw motorcycle clubs in Montreal, Quebec, Canada which ran from 1994 until 2002, primarily involving Hells Angels MC and Rock Machine MC.

It is estimated that there are over 162 deaths that can be associated with the war.

Quebec Biker War – Clubs Involved

There were a number of outlaw motorcycle clubs as well as other groups involved in the conflicts:

  • Bandidos MC – Aligned with Rock Machine for the war

Quebec Biker War Bandidos MC Logo

Quebec Biker War Hells Angels Logo

  • Pelletier Clan – A Montreal crime family who joined forces with Rock Machine
  • Rock Machine MC

Quebec Biker War Rock Machine MC Patch Logo

Multiple groups including Rock Machine and the Pelletier Clan combined forces to create “The Alliance”, who worked together against the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club.

Quebec Biker War – Leadup / Motive

In 1977 the Hells Angels opened a chapter in Quebec, Montreal, Canada, after the Popeyes Motorcycle Club were patched over by the Hells Angels. This was their first known presence in Quebec.

In 1986 Rock Machine MC was founded.

There are multiple suggested motives which led to the Quebec Biker War, the most common being that the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club were attempting to take hold of Quebec and the local drug trade.

In 1994 the Rock Machine Founder Salvatore Cazzetta was arrested for attempting to import 11 tonnes of cocaine. Hells Angels Quebec Chapter President Maurice Boucher was then said to have increased the Hells Angels pressure on Rock Machine.

Quebec Biker War – Timeline of Events

There are literally hundreds of events that can be associated with the Quebec Biker War, below are some of them:

14 July, 1994 – 2 members of a club associated with the Hells Angels shoot and kill a Rock Machine associate inside a motorcycle shop.

19 October, 1994 – Maurice Lavoie, aged 32, arrives home with his 22 year old girlfriend. Patrick Call fires several shots into the car, killing Maurice Lavoie instantly. Although his girlfriend is hit she is able to exit the car and later identifies Patrick Call, who is a member of the Pelletier Clan. It is believed that Maurice Lavoie had decided to buy drugs from the Hells Angels instead of the Pelletier Clan, which is believed to have led to the shooting. Some people list this event as being the start of the Quebec Biker War.

9 August, 1995 – A jeep is wired with a remote controlled bomb. The explosion kills an 11 year old boy, Daniel Desrochers, who is playing in a nearby yard, as well as the occupant of the vehicle, Marc Dubé.

Quebec Biker Wars Jeep Bomb

4 October, 1995 – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police launch Operation Wolverine, in an attempt to slow the escalating violence.

2000 – Normand “Biff” Hamel, a Hells Angels Quebec Nomad is shot to death outside a health clinic. Bandidos MC ex-member Tony Duguay is charged with the murder.

2000 – Rock Machine MC is patched over by Bandidos MC, as part of Bandidos MC’s expansion into Canada. This process was overseen by Edward Winterhalder under the directive of Bandidos MC International President George Wegers.

Quebec Biker War – Victims

It is estimated that there were over 162 deaths that can be attributed to the Quebec Biker War.

Daniel Desrochers –  Killed by shrapnel when a jeep was blown up in an attack on 9 August 1995. He was playing in a schoolyard near the vehicle. If it wasn’t for Daniel’s death the Quebec Biker War would not have received the same level of publicity.

Quebec Biker War – Police Investigation, Charges & Aftermath

Maurice Mom Boucher – The Hells Angels President Mom Boucher is found guilty on two counts of murder for the 26 June 1997 murder of prison guard Diane Lavigne and the 8 September 1997 murder of prison guard Pierre Rondeau and one count of the attempted murder of prison guard Robert Corriveau, who was a colleague of Pierre Rondeau. He is sentenced to three concurrent life sentences with no chance of parole until 2022.

Since 2002 Maurice Boucher is being held in the Special Handling Unit (SHU), super-maximum federal penitentiary which is located in Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines just outside of Montreal.

On 3 November 2015 while in prison Maurice Boucher and Rene Girard are believed to have stabbed inmate Ghislain Gaudet. They are both charged with attempted murder.

2001 – Police Operation Springtime makes 139 arrests of people believed to be associated with the Hells Angels.

2009 – April, 2009. 156 arrests in the Dominican Republic, France, New Brunswick and Quebec as part of Operation SharQc (Stratégie Hells Angels Région Québec) made up of 111 Hells Angels members and 45 Hells Angels associates. The arrests are alleged to solve 22 murders that occurred between 1992 and 2009, including some which were related to the Quebec Biker War.

2015 – October 9, 2015. The trial of five men identified in Operation SharQc believed to have been members of the Hells Angels Sherbrooke Chapter between 1994 and 2002, Claude Berger, Yvon Tanguay, François Vachon, Sylvain Vachon and Michel Vallières is ended by Superior Court Justice James Brunton after it became apparent that key evidence in the case held by the Prosecution had only been provided to the Defence a month prior.

Maurice “Mom” Boucher is best known as the former President of the Hells Angels MC Montreal chapter and for his heavy involvement in the Quebec Biker War which ran from 1994 until 2002.

He is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of two prison guards and the attempted murder of a third.

Maurice Mom Boucher Early Life / Personal Life

Maurice Mom Boucher was born on 21 June, 1953 in Causapscal, Quebec, later moving to inner-city Montreal when he was two years old.

He turned to crime early on after dropping out of school in year 9 and convicted of 3 break and enters in 1974 and placed in detention for almost 6 months. In November 1975 Mom Boucher was charged with an armed robbery and sentenced to 40 months prison.

From around 1982 until 1987 Maurice Boucher was a member of the SS Club, which was a white supremacist motorcycle club. Along with him in SS was Salvatore Cazzetta, who would go on to found Rock Machine MC and war against the Hells Angels for years to come. Salvatore Cazzetta was said to have had the opportunity to also join the Hells Angels, but declined based on the events of the Lennoxville Massacre.

Maurice Mom Boucher Hells Angels MC

In 1987 (reportedly on 1 May, 1987) Maurice Boucher became a member of the Hells Angels Montreal Chapter.

Around 1995 (reportedly 24 June, 1995) he was responsible for forming a Nomads chapter of the Hells Angels, where rumours were that he was planning to corner the drug market throughout Quebec.

Maurice Boucher was involved in the events behind the Quebec Biker War, a battle which ran from 1994 until 2002. The Quebec Biker War took over 162 lives, with hundreds more injured. When police ramped up their focus on the Nomad chapter of the Hells Angels Mom Boucher increased the pressure put on those working in law enforcement, by way of intimidation.

In 1998 he is acquitted of ordering the murder of two prison guards and the attempted murder of a third and sentenced to life in prison. Police performed further investigations and in 2000 were successful in their appeals process and re-arrest Boucher. Law enforcement were able to obtain an informant, Stéphane Gagné, also known as Godasse, a man who was involved in the murders and stated that they were ordered by Maurice Boucher. In May 2002 Boucher is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.

In around April 2014, while still serving his prison sentence, Mom Boucher was reportedly expelled from Hells Angels MC.
